Roche formerly Victoria
(1876 - )
Roche railway station which serves the village of Roche in Cornwall, is situated on the Atlantic Coast Line
A passenger service was introduced on June 20 1876 when the depot was named "Victoria", which gave its name to the modern hamlet on the site, and then changed to "Roche" on May 1 1904
The passing loop was extended on July 3 1936 to accommodate the longer holiday trains then using the line. It was closed on January 3 1965 when the goods yard was closed
Trains on the Par to Newquay branch line stop at Roche on request - this means that passengers alighting here must tell the conductor that they wish to do so, and those waiting to join must signal clearly
to the driver as the train approaches
On peak summer Saturdays there is no service as the line is worked to capacity by long-distance trains bringing holidaymakers to Newquay
