Mollington (1840 - 1960)
Mollington opened on September 23 1840 with only one platform on the west side of the line. The station had a brick built two-storey building that provided facilities for passengers and accommodation for the station master
In 1847 the new company doubled the track between Birkenhead and Chester and Mollington gained a second platform
The March 1850 timetable showed Mollington having eight trains Monday to Saturday and the December 1895 timetable showed sixteen trains Monday to Saturday
In 1938, a siding was opened at Mollington that was used for the loading of oil products. Storage tanks were located close to the siding which was used extensively during the 2nd World War
As Mollington Station was in a fairly remote location it suffered from a decline in passenger numbers during the 2nd half of the 20th century and it closed to passengers on March 7 1960
