Coalbrookdale railway station is in Coalbrookdale situated on the line between Buildwas Junction and Lightmoor Junction
The station was opened on November 1 1864 and closed initially on July 23 1962
It then opened again on May 27 1979 and was renamed as Telford (Coalbrookdale), closing in September 1979
Once again it was opened on July 24 1988 and renamed as Ironbridge Gorge
The station buildings are now used by the Green Wood Centre and the station is a waypoint on the South Telford Heritage Trail
