Trafford Park formerly Trafford Park & Stretford formerly Trafford Park

The station was opened on January 4 1904 as a passenger-only station serving the nearby housing and industries close to the Bridgewater Canal
Originally named Trafford Park, it was later renamed Trafford Park and Stretford but reverted to Trafford Park on May 6 1974
On December 11 1958, a train from Liverpool collided with the jib of a maintenance crane which had toppled onto the line. One person was killed and 37 people were taken to hospital
A new station to the west opened on October 15 1984
The station building, at street level, is now used as an office by a taxi company
The platforms are elevated, have shelters on each side and are reached by stepped ramps (so no step-free access available). The station is unstaffed and has no ticketing facilities
