West Timperley
(1866 - 1964)
West Timperley station was situated on the Glazebrook to Stockport Tiviot Dale Line opening on March 1 1873 for goods services
with passenger services commencing on August 1 1873
The station had two platforms which where linked to the road by slopes. Booking and waiting facilities where located on both platforms, with the main facilities on the Stockport platform
The station closed to passenger services on November 39 1964 but regular passenger trains continued to pass through the station site until 1966 when Liverpool Central closed to long distance services
Goods services operated along this section of line until October 10 1993
Today the platforms at West Timperley are still extant and the single line remains in situ
