The station serves the towns of East and West Looe and passenger trains have been using the line since 1879
The line to Liskeard was shortened in 1968 and a new station building was built
In the May 2016 timetable, there were 12 departures on weekdays and winter Saturdays, 13 on summer Saturdays and 7 on summer Sundays. There is no Sunday service in the winter
In the winter, some services run to Liskeard without an advertised stop at any of the intermediate stations
