Bodmin General formerly Bodmin
(1887 - 1967)
The Great Western Railway opened a terminus in Bodmin on May 27 1887, the line diverging from the Cornish Main Line at Bodmin Road. On September 3 1888 a new line connected with the
Bodmin and Wadebridge Railway at Dunmere Junction
Passenger services ceased on January 30 1967, freight services were withdrawn from Bodmin General on May 1 1967 and the signal box closed later that year but the station was retained as a reversal point
for freight trains from Wenford until 3 October 1983
It is now the principal station of the Bodmin and Wenford Steam Railway
