Broughton & Bretton formerly Broughton Hall formerly Broughton
(1849 - 1962)

Broughton & Bretton Station opened on August 14 1849 as part of the Mold Railway Company's double-track line from Chester to Mold. When opened the station was called Broughton but it was renamed by the LNWR in April 1861 to Broughton Hall. It received another name change on July 1 1908 to Broughton and Bretton

Broughton closed to regular passenger services in April 1962 but it remained in use for a workmen's train service from Chester to serve the nearby aircraft factory until September 2 1963

The station building is now used by a veterinary practice and the east bound platform waiting shelter is still extant
