Hope & Pen-y-Ffordd formerly Hope
(1849 - 1962)


Hope & Pen-y-Ffordd station opened in 1849 as part of the Mold Railway Company's double-track line from Chester to Mold. Upon opening it was known simply as Hope, and Pen-y-fford was added to the name on January 16 1912

Freight services were withdrawn from Hope & Pen-y-Ffordd from September 5 1955. Passenger services were withdrawn on April 30 1964 and after closure the station building survived in use as a private dwelling which remains to the present time
