Cockerham Cross Halt formerly Cockerham Crossing
(1870 - 1872 1875 - 1930)
Cockerham Cross Halt was in a very remote spot with no village or hamlet nearby, merely a scattering of farms when it opened in December 1870
There were no passenger facilities at Cockerham Cross Halt and a 25-inch scale map of the area from 1892 does not even show a platform, however, a platform and shelter were installed some time later
The December 1895 timetable showed that Cockerham Cross Halt was only being served by four trains in each direction on Thursdays and Saturdays only
During the 1920s, competition from buses led to a decline in passenger numbers and on March 31 1930 the LMS withdrew the passenger service from the line. Cockerham Cross Halt was closed completely
