Rhosddu station was opened in July 1906 on the main Bidston to Wrexham line but only trains on another line from Brymbo to Wrexham called there
By the end of the first decade of the 20th century, a bus service was also competing against the railway. On March 1 1917 the passenger service from Brymbo to Wrexham Central was withdrawn and Rhosddu Halt closed to regular passenger services
