Heatley & Warburton formerly Heatley
(1853 - 1962)

Heatley Station was situated on what was to become known as the Ditton Junction to Skelton Junction line. It was opened on November 1 1853 as part of the Warrington and Stockport Railway

The station was renamed Heatley & Warburton in 1857

Heatley & Warburton Station closed to passengers on September 9 1962 when all regular passenger services on the line ceased. The line continued in use as a busy freight artery particularly for coal heading west towards Fiddlers Ferry Power Station and Garston Docks until July 1985

The station building is still extant as a private dwelling but the platforms have been demolished and the track is part of the Trans-Pennine cycle way
