Foryd 2nd became Kimnel Bay Halt
(1858 - 1931 - 1938 - 1948)
On April 20 1885 the original Foryd station was replaced by a new station at Kinmel Bay (still named Foryd) on the Chester to Holyhead main line
which had opened in 1848
The line at Kinmel Bay had 4 tracks but the station was only provided with two platforms which served the slow lines
The station closed as an economy measure during WW1 on July 2 1917 and reopened on July 1 1919
The station would have been provided with basic facilities and it is unlikely that it ever did much business
outside of the holiday months. As a result the station closed on January 5 1931
It re-opened experimentally as Kinmel Bay Halt for summer season traffic during July, August and September 1938 also during 1939 but there was no further passenger services although
the station didn't officially close until October 9 1948
Nothing survives of the station today but the line remains busy with through trains
