Llanpumpsaint
(1864 - 1965)
Llanpumpsaint Station opened on March 28 1864 when the Carmarthen & Cardigan railway was extended to Pencader from its temporary terminus at Conwil
The station had a passing loop and two platforms. Passenger facilities were modest, limited to a timber station building with a pitched slate roof on the down platform.
This comprised the booking office and waiting room
The main goods yard was behind the down platform and initially comprised a single siding with a loading dock at the end. At a later date, a large goods warehouse
was built towards the north end of the yard. There was a second short siding south of the station. The goods yard handled large quantities of timber but closed on December 2 1963
After closure of the line in 1965, the Carmarthen and Llanpumpsaint Farmers' Co-operative took over the goods warehouse.
The station site is now owned by Carmarthen County Council and is leased to a market garden
