Clubmoor
(1927 - 1960)
Clubmoor station opened on April 14 1927 because Liverpool Corporation had built a large housing estate in Clubmoor and the area housed many thousands of people who were potential customers
The station was approached by ramps up from Broad Lane on each side of the line. On the down (Aintre-bound) platform was a simple single-storey building with pitched asphalt roof. Half of the building was a booking office and the rest was a simple waiting shelter open to the platform. A similar building on the other platform was a waiting shed only
The summer timetable for 1932 showed Clubmoor having 10 up and down trains on Monday to Saturday. There were 2 trains in each direction on Sundays
By the summer of 1957, its service had been reduced to only 3 up and down trains on Monday to Saturday
The last regular train to serve Clubmoor ran on November 5 1960. Being of simple construction the station was demolished after closure leaving little trace
