Huskisson
(1880 - 1886)

The CLC created a large goods station at Huskisson and a passenger station was provided in the south-east corner of the site

The booking hall and main entrance were at street level on Boundary Road and there were 2o sets of steps leading down to 2 long platforms

The up platform was provided with a waiting room with toilets for both sexes but the down platform had no facilities because it was used by arriving trains. The down platform had 2 faces giving Huskisson 3 platforms in all

A full public service began on August 2 1884 with trains running between Huskisson and Liverpool Central via Hunts Cross

The goods station at Huskisson had been a great success from the start and became the busiest goods station on the CLC network. In May 1866, the passenger station was handed over to the goods department who altered it for their own purposes. The down platform was provided with an overall canopy to keep goods dry. The up platform was demolished to make space for more sidings. Passenger tickets were issued from Huskisson after the closure of the passenger station to individuals travelling from the station with livestock such as cattle

The goods station finally closed in July 1975 and the station was demolished in the early 1980s
