Hinderwell
(1883 - 1958)

Built as a single platform at the northern side of a passing loop. The substantial station building was of brick construction andincorporated the stationmaster’s house. A second platform was added to the loop in 1908 with a timber waiting shelter

There was a small goods yard with a single siding on the ‘down’ side of the line and two further sidings on the 'up' side of the line, one serving a cattle dock and the other serving coal drops

The station was closed to both passengers and goods on May 3 1958 and the track was lifted in 1959. The station buildings were demolished. Initially the platforms remained but these were eventually also removed to make way for a small industrial estate containing the Staithes Coastguard and a children's play area
