Skinningrove formerly Carlin How
(1875 - 1960)

Skinningrove station opened on April 1 1875 as Carlin How and was renamed Skinningrove on October 1 1903

It had a single platform on the ‘up’ side of the single line and with buildings near to the Saltburn end of the station

There was no goods service at the station

The station was unstaffed from February 4 1952 and closed to passengers on June 30 1952 although it remained open for workmen Skinningrove Steelworks until May 5 1958

A few old fence posts and the remains of a strained wire fence suggests evidence of the old railway station boundary otherwise there is nothing to suggest that a station ever existed here
