Chester to Wrexham Railway
(1846 - )
The Chester to Wrexham line, was built in 1846 as part the Shrewsbury & Chester Railway and the route would become part of the GWR's main line from
London Paddington to Birkenhead Woodside
In the 1960s, many of the passenger stations serving smaller communities along the line were closed but the track was not lifted and trains still
run between Chester and Wrexham. There are 22 trains per day to and from Wrexham
The line is now double-tracked and some of the closed stations may re-open in the future
