Robin Hoods Bay
(1885 - 1965)

Robin Hoods Bay station opened on July 16 1885 and closed with the rest of the branch line on March 8 1965. The station had 4 camping coaches which were installed in the 1930s to be used for holiday accommodation

The goods yard at Robin Hoods Bay was the largest on the branch and included a weighbridge, coal yard, cattle dock, crane, goods shed and 5 sidings. Freight services were withdrawn from most of the stations on the Scarborough - Whitby line in May 1964 but they were withdrawn from Robin Hoods Bay on August 10 1964

The main station building which stood on the Up platform and the west end of the Down platform survive although the platform has gone. The station building and stationmaster's house is now holiday accommodation
