Longville
(1867 - 1951)

Longville station opened in 1867 and the passenger service through Longville from Much Wenlock to Craven Arms was withdrawn in 1951

The section between Much Wenlock and Longville remained open for goods traffic until September 1963 being used by a train that took products from a local Slaughterhouse

According to some locals you were able to book a one-way ticket to travel to Much Wenlock in the guard's van during this period but had to either make your own way back from Much Wenlock or wait for the goods train the following day!

There were only ever three or four daily trains beyond Much Wenlock to Craven Arms calling at Longville
