Morfa Mawddach formerly Barmouth Junction
(1867 - 1965)
Morfa Mawddach railway station, opened as Barmouth Junction on July 3 1865, on the Ruabon to Barmouth line
Originally a four-platform station, it became an unstaffed halt with a single platform and trains stopped on request
It was renamed as Morfa Mawddach but closed in January 1965
The trackbed to Dolgellau now forms the Mawddach Trail, which officially starts at the station car park
