Penmaenpool
(1865 - 1965)


Penmaenpool railway station in Gwynedd was formerly a station on the Ruabon to Barmouth Line. It opened on July 3 1865 as Penmaen Pool and closed to passengers on January 18 1965

It was renamed as Penmaenpool by 1904

It had two platforms and a passing loop, plus an engine shed

The former station master's house, ticket office & waiting room have been converted into an annexe for the George III hotel and the station site is now occupied by a car park
