Llanuwchllyn
(1868 - 1965)


Llanuwchllyn railway station in the village of Llanuwchllyn, Gwynedd was formerly a station on the Ruabon to Barmouth line opening in 1868. It closed to passengers on January 18 1965 at the same time as the rest of the line

It subsequently reopened in 1972 as the southern (and main) terminus of the narrow gauge Bala Lake Railway

The original waiting room is now a station buffet and the old station main building is now a booking office and store room

There was a cattle dock which is now the picnic area, the stone goods shed is a woodworking shop and the waiting room on platform two is an office. The goods facility was withdrawn on May 4 1964
