Huyton Quarry formerly Bottom of Whiston Incline
(1838 - 1958)
Huyton Quarry station opened between Autumn 1832 and September 1938 and was named Bottom of Whiston Incline. The station closed in September 1958
The station had been developed as a two platform station with station house and booking facilities on the Liverpool platform and substantial waiting facilities on the Manchester bound platform
To the west of the station a number of sidings serves a small branch line that ran down to the Quarry from which the station took its name. The branch also served a number of local collieries the last one only closing in 1983
When the station closed in 1958, the station platforms were demolished but the station house still survives
