Llysfaen formerly Llandulas
(1862 - 1931)
The station opened as Llandulas on August 1 1862 on the Chester to Holyhead main line. The station was provided with only two platforms because the express trains did not stop at the station, only local services
The main station building was alongside the road with steps and a ramp down to the platform. The westbound line had a waiting shelter
Despite its remote siting the station also had a goods service
On July 1 1889, the station was renamed as Llysfaen because a new station was opened on the line further to the east and it was given the name Llandulas
Llysfaen was an early closure to passengers and goods services closing on January 5 1931 but trains still pass through the station
Remains of both platforms can still be seen
