The station was opened on September 10 1934 and is midway between Flixton and Urmston stations
It was built to serve the western expansion of Trafford Park but there were no goods facilities
The station has a very small ticket office on the Manchester-bound platform which is open on weekday mornings only, there are no trains on a Sunday. Tickets must be purchased on the train or in advance at all other times
Each platform has a small covered waiting area and step-free access from the road via ramps
